cast resin, hand sculpted, mixed media and acrylic, marble and granite mount. (obscenely heavy).
It seems understandable that this current piece smacks certain overtones of trendy "zombie fandom" - but in actuality, (like many of my works), it was inspired by music. In this instance; I give a nod to Inspiral Carpets' (1992) song "Generations" from the album (by the same title as this post) which adorns the awesome photographic art of Sandy Skoglund. While the song, was motivating enough - the sculpt has nothing to do with the lyrics. In this context, "Generations", I attempt to parody "capricious evolution".... Although, I have to admit - their music video, was as equally "inspiraling"!

Pictured above: is a replica project I had started working on back in 1997. It is sculpted in Apoxy Sculpt. You might recognize it as the wolf cane from the 1941 horror classic "The Wolf Man". Though It was never my intention to strive for an exact replica, I lost interest in completing the project shortly after I began sculpting it. It has been sitting around my studio, in various stages, since then. The only time I really paid much attention to it was when, I wound up having left over Apoxy while working on other sculpts. I hate wasting material....The above picture is the result of an accumulation of 13 years of Apoxy sculpt that would have otherwise gone to waste.
I am very pleased to participate in congratulating Tomenosuke-syoten for another incredible year as a premiere Art Toy shop and Pop Culture phenomenon, since their inception four years ago. To celebrate the occasion, the first editions of myFutura Airflow sculpture (aka "Train In Vain"), will make it's debut this month in Japan - as Tomenosuke exclusives...
Infused in a cosmic array of slick metallic colors, these Tomenosuke-syoten special editions are limited to 6 pieces and will be available midnight (JST), Saturday October, 30 through their online store. Check here for details.
Happy Anniversary Tomenosuke!- Here's to future days!
If I've ever done anything right in my career...this sculpture might be proof of that. I sculpted this lonely wolf perched beneath moonlit sky, as a gift for a lovely woman I met several years ago. Although at the time, she was someone I barely knew - I knew enough...
...just in time for Presidents day!??
I admit, it seems I'm always too pre-occupied creating works to acknowledge most events marked on(and off)the calender...This includes birthdays. Valentine's Day being no different... As irrelevant as it may seem - here is my Valentine's Day entry and sculpture for 2010.
Happy belated Valentine's Day!
*A litte FYI - When I created this sculpture, until now, it has been sitting on my shelf unfinished, untitled, dusty and neglected...for 4 years. I just painted this last night. The character duet are affectionately and appropriately named Endicott & Tribena. Which may seem to have some familiar connotations to those who remember... hmmm...
Hope you like them.
Cast in reinforced resin, sitting at a smoldering 5¼" tall, this little guy is sweet and smokin' in your choice of three radiant colors. Please check back before the end of January for updates and pricing just in time for Valentine's Day!
I really had my heart set on having my first run of Vapor™ produced in vinyl. Unfortunately, things seemed to fizzle with the prospects for now. I am currently looking into new avenues to get this accomplished in the coming months...Stay tooned!

Cute and crazy animals are kind of my thing. I sculpted these characters individually. Having no purpose individually, I assembled them into this little animal party. I'm certainly not suggesting that makes it a "deep and meaningful" piece of art...
Yeah. - Let's just call this one a *safety sculpt*
"Due to my strong personal convictions, I wish to stress that the sculpture in no way endorses a belief in the occult...." Pierre Rouzier
I won't go into detail about how cool it was to be a young 20something during the eighties and the impact that the music and fashion had on us all. It was a magical decade... You just had to be there. However, I will go as far as to express the indelible impact it has had on my psyche and the fondness to recapture my youth, as I often attempt to convey that in my works. This recent post features a sculpt, inspired by a doodle I created back 1984 after seeing the most amazing music video - Ever! This is my little tribute to some of the best memories of my young adulthood...
