Revenge Of The Goldfish

Be sure before you flush...

This recent sculpt is titled "Generations".
cast resin, hand sculpted, mixed media and acrylic, marble and granite mount. (obscenely heavy).

It seems understandable that this current piece smacks certain overtones of trendy "zombie fandom" - but in actuality, (like many of my works), it was inspired by music. In this instance; I give a nod to Inspiral Carpets' (1992) song "Generations" from the album (by the same title as this post) which adorns the awesome photographic art of Sandy Skoglund. While the song, was motivating enough - the sculpt has nothing to do with the lyrics. In this context, "Generations", I attempt to parody "capricious evolution".... Although, I have to admit - their music video, was as equally "inspiraling"!

they Mite be giants

Well, finally! -
Cybermite production has been under way for some time now and I'm happy to share the results of what seems to have taken several months in the works to get to this milestone. The new Cybermite(s), re-incarnated from their 1999 "plush" predecessors, are back making their debut in resin form for 2011. Based off the original ("Y2K") line-up; Cybernetic Pink, FatalError Blue and MotherBoard Green will be joined by a new addition affectionately dubbed HeadCrash (aka "punkermite" giving a nod to scfi-tech Bruce Bethke author of Cyberpunks).
Each 'mite is approximatey 3.75" H x 4.25" diam, (about the size of an Araca Boi), each sporting a 3.5" - 5" signature style mohawk made of synthetic fibers and real *chrome spikes. The anticipated edition is 10/each or until the end of the year (which ever comes first). There are currently 5 of each of the 4 versions available for immediate purchase.

In addition to the aforementioned stable - I've created a few special edition, one-of-a-kind 'mite......

ok, so now that your back from Google-ing; Araca Boi - please expand the post for more info ......

*The colors represented in these images are my very best attempt capture the true essence of the objects through the aid of a digital camera. Some special paint effects applied to the figures such as, candy, pearls, fluorescent, metallic and PMS colors may not be conveyed in these images as well as they would in person.
*Some Cybermite have embellishments that may be hazardous to small children and and unsuspecting persons. Cybermite are not intended as a weapon or for children.

Another Day Another Night Mite

It has been a while since I've had the chance to create or upload any new works.
My absence from the blog is usually the result of life as a freelance artist. Which (loosely translated) means; too busy working or too busy promoting work....
Meanwhile back in the studio - Pictured above; are a small sampling of Cybermite™ resin figures I'm currently producing. Re-born from one of my first toy lines I ever created; Cybermites were originally produced in 1999 as a soft toy under the brand name Plutonian Plush™. The new 'Mites line-up will be cast resin and should be ready for purchase in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for checking back to my little corner of (cyber) space :-).

Bits and Pieces

A continuation from my earlier post; You can see from the image above that the original sculpt has been cut apart, castings have been pulled from the waste mold and are ready for final tooling. The next phase will consist of hours (and hours) of sanding, detailing, fitting and pre-assembly for the final master...

With more projects than table space; I'm not really sure if this Sh-Betty statue will result in a production run or a signed and numbered limited edition...

Jump In The Line (skake- shake- shaken- not stirred)

For those who have waited...The next serving of 2010 "Martini Time" Thirstin (re-issue) resin figures, will be available to ship in June!

After announcing a re-release of the "Martini Time" edition back in 1.1.10, I was disappointed to discover that the original mold had reached the end of it's life. Pictured above, molded and re-cast from the original master sculpt, are the new figures set amongst some of my original proofs and expanded line from 2004. You can now place your order for your very own Thirstin Martini Time edition in the PiNkJazZ - Inside The Sculptor's Studio Store.

While packaging may not wind up being too fancy; it is currently being work- work- worked on...
