Presenting "Lydon" - The fifth in my series of graphic meets 3D style characters for my
collectible resin figures.
Back in March of 2015, I was asked to participate in introducing the latest Makerbot Replicator Desktop 3D Printer for a national pc retailer in my area. Although as the title suggests ("Brave New World"); 3D printing/printers for the consumer is hardly new. And many of the Makerbot printers are commonly found in most retail stores; ranging from Office Depot to the big box giant, Home Depot. Nevertheless, from a traditional sculptor's point of view, (who has recently made the leap into virtual sculpting), I thought this would be a cool experience to talk about the migration, process and to see first hand how my recent digital sculpt would translate to 3D printing. Lydon will be my first printed piece. Although the date has been pushed back for this demonstration, I am eager to see how well (or not) this process will preform compared to my experience in hand sculpting toys.

Clash gets a tangy makeover for this second release of limited edition -
candy ckaiju collector's figures.
This stuff is starting now ...* UpDate_3.12.11 *For those of you who have followed my modest little corner of the net, may have seen this entry originally posted on March 8th. The preceding post was intended to launch the release of the new Clash figures but was subsequently retracted due to some unforeseen (printing) problems which delayed the release......and then this occurred...
As we all know - on March 11th, disaster struck our neighboring friends in Japan. In light of the terrible events of the quake and tsunami which devastated the North East region of the island and it's rippling consequences that have changed the lives of those of the entire country - I will be donating a portion(25%)of the proceeds made from the "
Candy cKaiju"sales, to help those affected by the disaster in Japan. I am often flattered by the tremendous support the Japanese collectors have displayed in appreciation of my works...I hope to in-turn show the same gratitude by the simple means of this heartfelt gesture in an effort to contribute what I can to help those in their time of need. Japan faces a long struggle ahead as they begin to morn, regain their strength and prepare to rebuild. Please join us in doing what ever you can do to help....You can check out the
one-of-a-kind limited editions here......or perhaps consider making a contribution through the Japanese Red Cross or other charity organization of your choice.
Thanks.
